Dad at dinner at Silver Oaks.My Dad is a very special person who is well loved by many people. When I think of my Dad I am reminded of 3 P's. He is a man of principle, a man of prayer, and a lover of people. Dad has stood for the principles of God's Word all my life. Some may not have agreed with him but he always did what he thought was right. Dad has never been afraid to testify for Jesus, I have never met anyone who can work a testimony into every conversation with a stranger. Many people remember Dad saying, "Stand real still while I pray for you." It didn't matter if it was at the end of his line at the Jay C Store, the Cracker Barrell, a parking lot, etc. Dad is always ready to pray with you. Daddy has never met a stranger in his life. His ready smile, silly rhymes, jokes, and those jumping biceps can always bring smiles to others. And we can't forget those stories that he loves to tell over and over to whomever will listen! Dad loves his girls, his granddaughters all thier husbands and their children. Dad just loves everyone!
Dad's days are limited on this earth and it looks like he will spend them some place other than his home. His memory is failing and he is no longer able to live independently. I have attached some pictures of him in the Silver Oaks Health Campus where he now resides. Pray for all of us as it is an adjustment for us as well as him.

Dearest "Aunt" Jan, I cannot imagine the grief that you and Aunt Linda have gone through having to place your Daddy in a home. I have been praying for Ya'll! But, it looks like a nice place, and he looks happy! I'll be praying for you and Aunt Linda, and your Daddy as you come to my mind!

Janet-Bob & I having been talking about you & your Dad this week. I understand that it is quite an adjustment for all of you & a hard decision to make. Glad to see that you are taking pictures! You will be so glad that you have them later on. I wrote a journal during the hours I sat at the hospital with my Dad. Hope you get to go to the Father's Day Brunch! Love & Prayers, Sheila
I too have been thinking of you and your Dad this week. You will not regret spending these days with him and taking pictures. He does look happy in the pictures and I am sure he knows you have done everything you can to keep him living at home up until now. He will enjoy the company there at Silver Oaks! (He's practically in our back yard!!) I will have to take my kids to see him some time! I will be thinking of you tomorrow and in the days to come! Take care!
Janet, I hope your dad adjusts well. Once he gets used to it he might actually enjoy it. My great aunt is at the one on 25th and seems to enjoyit now. She plays the piano and everything for them. Another thing is the people he is with can recall the same things he does so they have memories to share. You are right also that your dad loves his family!
that's cute about the 3 p's, my dad has 5 p's: proper planning prevents poor performance :-)
